Philosophy
Pat’s Playhouse believes that “ Play is the Work of Young Children” and that “ Children Learn Through PLAY”. With that in mind, our program was designed to offer your child/ children to socialize and interact with other young children while offering opportunity to play and learn, both individually and as a group, in a variety of creative, individual appropriate and age appropriate activities. We offer a child-centered curriculum. We believe that by allowing children safe choices we are enhancing their individual development, fostering their independence and creative expression. The development of good self-esteem is essential in a child’s life. Through learning centers the children have many learning adventures and toys are rotated on a weekly basis so as to foster interest and knowledge.
My philosophy on education is that teachers and parents together need to encourage the physical, intellectual and social growth of children. In addition, teachers and parents need to take an active roll in the child’s everyday life, to encourage a child’s self esteem, good health and nutrition, which will ensure proper growth and development, The environment of the childcare facility must encourage an interest in learning. I feel that education begins at birth and is a life long process. I believe the best way to encourage young children to learn is through interactive and hands on play. Through properly guided interactive play children learn diversity, intellectual and physical skills.
Teachers and parents need to be good role models for children thereby reinforcing their social-emotional skills. Teachers need to offer individual, developmental, age and cultural appropriate opportunities and resources for each child in their care.
Pat’s Playhouse is a safe and loving environment to socialize and learn. We encourage children to reach their full potential. At Pat’s Play House we provide children with a secure social, emotional and cultural base for all learning.
